CR announced that, starting from January 20, an additional 35 high speed trains offering “Quiet Carriage” service have been introduced, expanding the service to a total of 72 trains. This expansion aims to better meet the travel needs of a wide range of passengers seeking a serene and enjoyable journey.

　　According to the spokesperson from the Passenger Transport Department of CR, to create a civilized, orderly, warm, and comfortable travel environment, the railway authority initiated the “Quiet Carriage” service pilot on the Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway and the Chengdu-Chongqing High Speed Railway in December 2020. The service was gradually extended to other routes, including Beijing-Guangzhou Railway and Zhengzhou-Chongqing High Speed Railway. It has been well-received by passengers. To further enhance the quality of high speed train services and contribute to a pleasant Spring Festival travel experience, the railway authority has coordinated high speed trains to expand the coverage of “Quiet Carriage” service. An additional 35 Fuxing EMU trains will now provide this service, covering multiple high speed routes such as Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway, Beijing-Guangzhou High Speed Railway, Beijing-Harbin High Speed Railway, Shanghai-Kunming High Speed Railway, and Xi’an-Chengdu High Speed Railway. This expansion allows more passengers to enjoy the “Quiet Carriage” service.

　　The spokesperson advised passengers to independently select and purchase tickets for the “Quiet Carriage” through the Railway 12306 platform. Passengers are reminded to abide by the “quiet” agreement, maintain a quiet environment inside the carriage, and use headphones or turn off audio speakers when using electronic devices. Mobile phones should be set to silent or vibrate mode. Passengers are also encouraged to take care of their children, avoid making noise, and collectively contribute to a civilized, warm, and quiet train travel environment.
