At 20:50 on January 10, the G853 Fuxing EMU intelligent train, departing from Wuhan Railway Station, successfully arrived at Xining Railway Station. This train marks the first direct EMU service from the central China region to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the first time the Fuxing EMU intelligent train has operated on this plateau. After a night of rest, at 9:40 on January 11, the train changed its code to G854 and departed from Xining Railway Station towards Wuhan, achieving two-way travel for the Fuxing EMU intelligent train between the two cities.

According to the new train schedule, the capacity from Wuhan to Lanzhou has been optimally extended, further expanding the accessible range for passengers traveling to and from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. This train traverses five provinces, including Qinghai, Gansu, Shaanxi, Henan, and Hubei, with stops at 16 stations including Lanzhouxi Railway Station, Xi’anbei Railway Station, and Zhengzhou Railway Station. The travel time from Wuhan to Xining has been compressed from the original 23 hours to less than 10 hours, significantly shortening the temporal and spatial distance between the two cities.

The CR400BF-Z model Fuxing EMU intelligent train chosen for this route is a new generation EMU train developed and produced domestically with completely independent intellectual property rights. It provides smoother operation, a more efficient network, and a more comfortable passenger experience. Additionally, the train is equipped with a WTD system, a safety monitoring system, a fault prediction, and a health management system, greatly enhancing the intelligence level of EMU operation and better ensuring operational safety.

According to the railway authority, to further facilitate travel for passengers in Qinghai and Tibet, CR-Qingzang has gradually extended the operating routes of Fuxing EMU trains from Beijing, Shanghai, and Wuhan to Xining, through extensive communication and coordination, which has effectively strengthened the connectivity between Qinghai and inland areas. Currently, direct EMU trains have been operated from Xining to multiple destinations, including Xi’an, Chengdu, Chongqing, Yinchuan, Beijing, Shanghai, Urumqi, and Wuhan, better meeting the travel needs of passengers on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
