On January 12, the transportation scene at the Liuzhou Luorong Automotive Logistics Base was bustling, as electric cars were systematically loaded onto a double-deck special transport train, destined for overseas through sea-rail intermodal transportation.

Liuzhou, Guangxi, is a national production base for automotive components, a national export base for automobiles and components, and a national automobile industry demonstration base. The majority of automobiles transported by Guangxi Railway are sourced from here.

According to statistics, in 2023, CR-Nanning sent 47,400 export vehicles through sea-rail intermodal transportation, a year-on-year increase of 11.98%, providing strong transportation support for the export of automotive goods from Guangxi.

To ensure the efficient operation of sea-rail intermodal transportation for export vehicles, CR-Nanning visited automobile production enterprises to understand the production, sales, and export transportation needs. They collaborated with ports to tailor transportation solutions for enterprises and strengthened the development and operation of new sea-rail intermodal routes, such as Liuzhou-Qingdao Port-Port of Valparaíso in Chile, to help Guangxi automotive companies expand into overseas markets.

“Automobiles produced in the Liuzhou region are exported to more than 40 countries and regions, expanding from the initial Southeast Asian countries like Indonesia and Thailand to Central and South America, the Middle East, etc.,” said Cai Yongbo. Currently, Guangxi Liugong loaders and Wuling automobiles are transported north through the CRE train to Moscow, Russia, and Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and southward through the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor’s sea-rail intermodal train to Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia and Thailand.
