As a significant innovation in the international transportation service system, the CRE train transport costs are one-fifth of air freight, and the transit time is one-fourth of sea freight. With minimal impact from natural environmental factors and high stability, CRE trains have a significant advantage in transporting products with a certain volume and high timeliness requirements. Therefore, they have become an important logistics choice for domestic and international customers. In recent years, China has continuously optimized the CRE train transport network and innovated the logistics transport model between Asia and Europe with multiple measures, such as the expansion of railway ports, the removal of bottlenecks, the improvement of overseas warehouses, and the enhancement of overseas distribution capabilities, as well as the integration of international intermodal transportation rules. Consequently, CRE trains closely connect the Eurasian continent and have become a crucial bridge for international economic and trade cooperation.

　　The CRE trains also serve as a microcosm and witness of the “Belt and Road” Initiative (BRI), embodying the principles of peace, cooperation, openness, inclusiveness, mutual learning, and mutual benefit. By the end of 2023, there were 86 operational routes for CRE trains, connecting 112 cities within China and 217 cities in 25 European countries. These trains also reached over 100 cities in 11 Asian countries along the route. The transported goods cover more than 53 major categories, including clothing, shoes, hats, automobiles and components, wood, and more, totaling over 50,000 different product types. These tangible development achievements provide valuable experience and robust support for the BRI, making the China-Europe “economic and trade bridge” even more solid.
