The Beijing-Pinggu Comprehensive Logistics Hub, located in Pinggu, Beijing, launched the first direct CRE train to Russia. In addition, the first “China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan” international multimodal transport freight train from Langfang, Hebei to Uzbekistan. In 2023, a total of 1,059 CRE trains departed for Europe and Central Asia from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, radiating to countries and regions including Russia and Germany.

In recent years, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region has seen CRE trains to Europe and Central Asia as the focus of its efforts to expand new channels for foreign trade. According to CR-Beijing, the number of CRE trains heading to Europe and Central Asia operated by the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region increased in 2023. Specifically, 335 CRE trains were heading to Europe, and 724 CRE trains heading to Central Asia. With the help of these trains, tents supporting earthquake relief efforts in Turkey departed from Tianjin and went directly to Mersin, autonomous-brand cars from Shijiazhuang boarded trains bound for Moscow, and freight trains carried goods thousands of miles, with continuous economic and trade exchanges. Stable and efficient logistics services have become the “artery” supporting the foreign trade of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

“This ‘artery’ mainly departs from bases such as the Tianjin Port of Xingang Business Department and the Shijiazhuang International Land Port, passes through border stations such as Erenhot, Manzhouli, and Horgos, and goes to Central Asia and Europe,” said Zhang Jinchao, Deputy Director of the Freight Department of CR-Beijing.
